Big Boards, Josh Hall, and Friends in Hawaii, Summer 2026

I was blessed and honored to be able to make it over to Waikiki a few weeks back and partake in some epic big boarding with friends.  An idea was spawned last year with my Big Board Brother Jimmy while down in Scorpion Bay about heading to Waikiki for an all out big board mission trip. To honor our forefathers of surfing and the big board slide; Ancient Kings and Queens, Duke, Tom Blake and more closely my mentor, Skip Frye. The plan was to have a mellow, under the radar meet up and do some cross country surfing, bbq and beach hang. 

Having been crafting these big boards for over 20 years and riding them for almost 30, being able to connect with local hawaiian surfers from different islands was more than a spiritual experience for me, to say the least.  In classic fashion, the day came together with unreal waves, super good vibes, grindz and plenty of shade from the monkey pod tree.   Stay tuned for more photos on this story.  Thanks to Lost not Found Magazine and Mike Ito for providing this clip.
